The brief
NAZAD.in.UA is a commercial-law service run by Legal Solutions LLC, a Kyiv legal firm in the same business group as Marketing MIX, so this case describes work inside our own group. The state register lists Legal Solutions as registered on 30 May 2014 and active, with legal services as its main line.
The service grew out of a very specific problem. After 2014, companies registered in Crimea had to move their registered address to mainland Ukraine to keep operating under Ukrainian law and to keep their VAT status and bank accounts. NAZAD.in.UA, whose logo carries the tagline "business reboot", handles that move: re-registration at a new address, a legal address in another region, a new VAT certificate, re-issued licences and permits, and bank account changes. The site also covers opening or buying a company, court disputes, extracts from state registers and re-registration of businesses from the ATO zone. The live menu adds re-registration of charitable foundations from Crimea, force-majeure certificates, and DUNS numbers with D&B credit ratings.
People who need a service like this search for the procedure by name: an extract from the state register, a change of legal address, VAT registration. They want a plain explanation, a price and someone to call. Service pages that each answer one procedure tend to convert better than a general "lawyer online" page.
The task was a public site with a laconic design and thought-through ergonomics, where a visitor easily finds the answer to the question that worries them.
What we did
Design
Under a gear logo with the tagline "business reboot", the header states "Moving business from Crimea to Ukraine", followed by a row of regional phone numbers for Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and all of Ukraine. The layout is light grey and white with teal and purple accents. The main menu covers re-registration of a business from Crimea, opening or buying a new company, court disputes, other services, payment and a Help section. The mockups show service tiles, long service articles with a menu beside the text, and the Help page.
Development
A designer, a PHP developer and an SEO specialist worked on the project. The first web-archive capture of nazad.in.ua, dated 24 July 2014, already shows the launched structure: the same headline, the same service blocks and a © 2014 footer.
SEO and advertising
We collected a semantic core and kept it updated, and optimised unique texts for key queries. We added the Help section to attract search traffic that can turn into clients; on the live site it holds about 17 practical articles for people from the ATO zone, on passes, pensions, salaries, newborn registration and certificates for internally displaced persons. A menu to the right of the texts lets visitors move easily between pages. Promotion relied on natural links earned by useful content, together with contextual advertising.
Where it stands today
We checked nazad.in.ua on 14 September 2026. The site is live on MODX Revolution behind Cloudflare, served over HTTPS with HSTS, and the home page responded in 0.6 to 0.8 seconds across three requests. It keeps the 2014 headline, design and service structure. The footer reads "NAZAD.in.UA © 2014–2026" beside the MMIX logo, which links to mmix.ua.
The Wayback Machine holds captures for every year from 2014 to 2025. By January 2018 the footer read © 2014–2018 with an MMIX credit linking to mmix.biz, and the May 2024 capture looks the same with © 2014–2024. The credit now points to mmix.ua.
The home page carries LegalService structured data that names Legal Solutions as the legal entity, with a founding date of 30 May 2014, and ten Open Graph tags with a share image. It lists regional phones for Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Kharkiv, and the sitemap holds 60 URLs. A widget for reporting errors on a page was added on 13 August 2026. The site is still Russian-only, the Help articles still use the ATO terminology of that period, and the HTML still links to VK profiles.
What we would add now
A Ukrainian version first
The site declares Russian as its only language. Ukrainian as the primary language, with hreflang if a Russian version stays, matches how Ukrainian businesses search today. See SEO services in Ottawa: technical and local SEO.
Procedures under current law
The service pages still describe procedures in the vocabulary of 2014–2015. Pages rewritten for registration from temporarily occupied territories and for current register extracts, each with price and timeline, would answer today's queries, and the outdated social links would go. Answer-ready structured data
The LegalService record sits on the home page only. Service markup on each procedure page and FAQPage markup on the Help articles, with the answer in the opening lines, give search engines and AI assistants text they can quote. See AI SEO & GEO agency: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews.
Mobile navigation
The mobile layout has had quick fixes, and the menu still needs a mobile-first rebuild so phone visitors can reach every service.
Lead capture into a CRM
Inquiry forms that land in a monitored CRM, with call tracking on the regional numbers, would show which procedures bring clients and make sure every request gets an answer.
