The brief
Law and Protection of Vasylkiv Region (Право та захист Васильківщини) is a public organisation in Vasylkiv, Kyiv Oblast. Ukraine's state register lists it under EDRPOU 41032992, registered on 16 December 2016, with the activities of other public organisations as its line (KVED 94.99). It works to protect the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of its members: social, creative, age-related, economic, and national and cultural.
Its site names four goals: meeting citizens' interests, uniting active citizens, improving public life, and making local government in the Vasylkiv area accountable and transparent. Current projects include "Handyman for an Hour" (social help for vulnerable people), free online legal aid and fundraising for housing, and the organisation works with the charity fund Podaruy Mriyu (Give a Dream).
A local civic organisation needs a website that does several jobs at once. It publishes news about the organisation and the region, shows residents where to turn with a problem, takes donations, and gives local media and partners a record of what has been done.
What we did
The first site, 2017–2018
A site built by Marketing MIX was online by April 2017, four months after the organisation was registered. A January 2018 capture shows that first generation: a UA/RU/EN language switch, Vasylkiv weather, fuel price and exchange rate widgets, navigation for About, Our Projects, Charity, News and Partner, and a horoscope. News was already sorted into three categories: the organisation, the Vasylkiv region and Ukraine. The footer carried our credit.
The 2019 redesign
The design mockups for the second generation are dated 2019. The work covered market analysis, prototypes and a visual design, then the Activities, Organisation and News sections and pages including Partners and Video. The homepage mockup combines a news grid, the organisation's goals, current projects, a charity block with a donate button for Podaruy Mriyu, media coverage, a form for reporting an offence, event announcements, a horoscope and a poll rating the organisation. The Video page shows YouTube videos in a paginated grid.
Development and launch
Front-end build with animated elements and pop-up forms, programming, adaptation for different devices, functional and usability testing, and publishing on hosting. Content management for the site was part of the scope.
Anti-spam protection, August 2026
In August 2026 a wave of form spam hit the MODX sites we support. We added Cloudflare Turnstile, spam heuristics and a per-IP rate limit to this site's forms, and Turnstile is visible in the live HTML.
Where it stands today
We checked vasilkiv.org on 14 September 2026. The site is live on HTTPS, in Ukrainian only, and still runs the 2019 redesign. The Wayback Machine shows that design live by January 2021, with the language switch removed, and unchanged in February 2025. The footer reads "Development and support" with the Marketing MIX logo linking to mmix.ua, as in every capture we opened from 2017 onwards, and the studio still holds the domain registration.
The homepage keeps the mockup structure block for block: the four goals, current projects, charity, media coverage, the offence report form with file upload, the horoscope, event announcements and the poll. The Donate button leads to a LiqPay checkout, and the site links to the organisation's Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Telegram channels.
The newest news item on the homepage is dated 18 June 2020, and the latest change date in the 463-URL sitemap is 13 August 2020. The state register still lists the organisation, with its record updated on 2 April 2026.
What we would add now
Fresh content or a clear archive
The latest post dates from June 2020, while the organisation remains registered. Visitors, search engines and AI systems all read stale dates as a sign that an organisation has gone quiet. A light publishing rhythm fed from the Telegram and Facebook channels the site already links, or a clearly marked archive, would fix that. See SMM and social media management in Ottawa.
Basic search and AI signals
The pages have an empty meta description, no canonical tag, no Open Graph image and no structured data, and there is no llms.txt. An NGO record with the registry code and address would let search engines and AI assistants identify the organisation correctly. Fundraising pages people can follow
Donations go through a single external LiqPay link. A separate page for each fundraising project, with progress and a short report once the money is spent, gives donors a reason to trust the organisation and come back.
Legal aid intake
Free online legal aid is the kind of help people search for and ask AI assistants about. A structured question form with consent text, next to a page of answers to common questions, would make that project the site's main entry point.
A lighter front end
The homepage loads 29 images without lazy loading and no WebP files, jQuery 2.2.4 sits alongside a second jQuery copy, and the server sends no HSTS header. The horoscope and poll date from the 2017 site and have little to do with the mission. See Corporate website development.
Testimonial
We have received another site from Marketing MIX. It took less than three weeks, including revisions, testing and all the work that happens behind the scenes. Designer Maria brought our idea to life beautifully. Thank you to the whole development team, from designer to tester, and special thanks to Vitaly, our manager on the studio's side, for his clarity, openness and attentiveness.
