The brief
Zminymo Maibutnie ("Let's Change the Future") is a Ukrainian public organisation registered on 8 September 2014 (EDRPOU 39383928) and included in the register of non-profit organisations. At the time of the project it organised events to help children in the city of Dnipro. The task was a news website styled around Dnipro city landscapes, published under the name I Love Dnipro.
The organisation is connected to the founder of Marketing MIX.
A community news site has two jobs. It has to give local readers a reason to come back, and it has to show supporters who stands behind the project and how to help. Visible organisation details, a way to subscribe and a way for readers to contribute their own stories are what turn a news page into a community.
What we did
Design
The "I ♥ DNIPRO" header sits over a night photograph of a Dnipro bridge. The home page carries the organisation's articles, among them "Dnipropetrovsk, my favourite European city" and "The river that unites the nation", plus local news. It shows a notice that the site is still being finished, with an invitation to leave an e-mail address to receive fresh news, a block with the organisation's details for charitable donations, and a language switch.
Video on the home page
A background video of Dnipro on the home page.
E-mail collection and mailing
An e-mail collection block, with a news mailing set up for subscribers.
Reader news submissions
An "Add news" form let readers propose stories of their own, with fields for name, e-mail and a description of the news and a "Publish" button.
SEO
A semantic core was compiled, and each news item was optimised for relevant queries.
Social media
Project groups were created on VK, Facebook and Google+.
Where it stands today
- 2015: the mockups carry "Copyright © 2015 Dnipro", with news posts dated 25 September 2015, among them one on the 380th anniversary of the Kodak fortress.
- January to August 2016: web-archive copies show ilovednipro.com live in Russian and Ukrainian, with the "I ♥ DNIPRO" header, the notice that the site is being finished and the e-mail sign-up, the two Dnipro articles, the organisation's details, the news submission form and a Marketing MIX credit. The last copy dates from 30 August 2016.
- 14 September 2026: ilovednipro.com has no DNS record and no active domain registration.
The organisation itself is still registered, with its registered address in Kyiv and "activities of other public organisations" (KVED 94.99) as its main activity. Since March 2023 it has run its own site, varyfuture.org, with a different design; that site's meta author tag reads MMIX.UA. varyfuture.org describes support for local communities, help to orphanages, a social adaptation programme for orphans and fundraising for medical equipment for local hospitals, with project cards dated March 2023 and an ecology blog whose latest posts date from May 2023. Its footer shows the EDRPOU code and the Kyiv address, and the site runs in Ukrainian and English. A web search on 14 September 2026 found no press coverage of I Love Dnipro.
What we would add now
Recommendations based on the organisation's current site, varyfuture.org, as checked on 14 September 2026, and on the 2016 archive.
Correct language markup
varyfuture.org declares its Ukrainian version with the hreflang code "ua", which is not a valid language code; Ukrainian is "uk". Search engines ignore the pairing until it is fixed. See SEO services in Ottawa: technical and local SEO.
Structured data for the organisation
The site has no JSON-LD. NGO or Organization markup with the EDRPOU code, plus DonateAction for the donation details, would make the organisation and the way to support it readable for rich results and AI assistants. See AI SEO & GEO agency: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews.
A publishing rhythm
Project and blog content stops in spring 2023, while the footer shows © 2026. A community site keeps its audience with a steady publishing schedule, or at least an automated feed of news from its social channels. See SMM and social media management in Ottawa.
Sign-up and donations that close the loop
In 2016 the site collected e-mail addresses while it was still being finished. Today a news or charity site would pair sign-up with a double opt-in mailing list, an online donation form with card payment, and analytics on both. See Corporate website development.
Channels the audience uses
The 2016 project relied on VK and Google+. Google+ closed in 2019 and VK is blocked in Ukraine, so a 2026 plan would centre on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram and YouTube. See SMM and social media management in Ottawa.
Testimonial
Our community project needed a news website with a design that was simple and still attractive. Marketing Mix handled the job, and on good terms too. We really liked the video on the home page, and the e-mail sign-up block was well implemented.
