The brief
Barrister is a Kyiv legal company that works with businesses. The Ukrainian state register lists it as ТОВ «ЮК «БАРІСТЕР»» (EDRPOU 38241529), registered on 28 May 2012 with legal activities as its main business; its status is active. The registration year matches the "© 2012" in the site footer.
The company covers the legal side of running a business: registering LLCs, sole proprietors, branches, NGOs and charities; legal addresses; accounting; tax disputes; licences; registration changes; and liquidation.
The engagement was SEO promotion of one commercial service, "Legal address in Kyiv". A company needs a registered address before it can be set up or move its registration, so founders and accountants search for one by district and price and compare several providers at once. A landing page for that demand has to rank for many close variants of the query and turn the visit into a call.
What we did
This was an SEO engagement on the existing site. The case page sets out the process as follows.
Express review
Google indexation, the domain's history, titles and descriptions, the sitemap and robots.txt.
Semantic core
The client's priority queries were the starting point, expanded by parsing Google search results. Queries that fit the promoted landing page were selected, and its metadata was corrected where needed. Additional queries were grouped into recommendations for new landing pages and informational articles, then agreed with the client.
Content
A review of the service page content, LSI phrases and a brief for the copywriter, followed by the approved reworked text, informational and blog articles, internal linking and indexation.
Positions and links
Position tracking for the priority queries, with corrections along the way. Off-page work: analysis of competitor domains and anchor lists, a link-building strategy for the landing page, an anchor list, content for donor sites, outreach and placement.
Team
An SEO specialist, a junior SEO specialist and an internet-marketing assistant / content manager. The case screenshot shows the site in 2020, with the office at Solomianska Street 3, the company's registered address, and blocks for state registration, tender documentation and legal addresses.
Where it stands today
- On 14 September 2026, barrister.ua is live over HTTPS. It opens in Russian, with a Ukrainian version at /ua.
- The page structure, the client reviews and the "Why choose us" block match the 2020 screenshot and the Web Archive capture of 14 January 2021.
- By 16 January 2026 the contacts had changed: the office is at Velyka Vasylkivska Street 72 (letter A) in Kyiv, with new phone numbers and e-mail, and a "They trust us" block had been added.
- The legal-address service promoted in this case still has its own landing page. The site offers legal addresses in ten Kyiv districts and in Vyshneve, Sofiivska Borshchahivka, Brovary and Boryspil.
- The current service menu also includes services for foreigners (tax numbers, work permits, temporary and permanent residence), tax disputes such as removal from the risky-taxpayer list, disclosure of ownership structure, and a subscription legal service.
- The original domain, lc-barrister.com.ua, no longer responds; its last Web Archive capture is from 9 November 2025.
- The live site carries no Marketing MIX credit, which is usual for an SEO-only engagement.
What we would add now
Barrister's site has a broad, well-structured service menu, and its technical signals have fallen behind it. For a 2026 update we would recommend the following.
Technical basics for indexing
A working sitemap.xml (the address currently returns 404), referenced from robots.txt, and a single canonical tag on the home page in place of the two conflicting ones. See SEO services in Ottawa: technical and local SEO.
Ukrainian by default
The Russian and Ukrainian versions have no hreflang links between them, and Russian opens at the root. Ukraine's state-language law expects businesses serving Ukrainian consumers to show a Ukrainian version by default. Switching the default and linking the versions would meet that requirement and help Ukrainian-language search.
Titles and descriptions that match the offer
The home page title still names Dnepropetrovsk, a city renamed Dnipro in 2016, and lists Odesa and Kharkiv, where the site shows no offices. The meta description is generic. Titles and descriptions built around the core offers (legal addresses, company registration, tax disputes) would match what people search for.
Prices and terms that AI assistants can quote
The site already has LocalBusiness structured data. The LegalService type, Service and Offer markup with prices on each service page, and FAQPage markup on the legal-address and registration pages would let AI assistants quote prices and terms directly. See AI SEO & GEO agency: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews.
Trust and platform
Framework signals point to Yii 1.x, an ageing stack, and the site sends no HSTS header. The contact e-mail is a Gmail address, while a mailbox on the company's own domain builds more trust with business clients. The messenger number appears as plain text; a one-tap messenger button would make contact easier on a phone.
Testimonial
I'm grateful to MMIX for productive work promoting our legal services. Our cooperation has brought a steady flow of clients through the website. We agreed on the keywords for every service, and they are being promoted successfully in line with the strategy, with many phrases in the top 3. The work is ongoing. I recommend the company.
