The brief
Bankrut Legal Center (Правовий центр «Банкрут») is a law firm with a narrow specialisation: bankruptcy. The task was a functional website that attracts search traffic on bankruptcy questions in Kyiv and across Ukraine.
Bankrut and Marketing MIX belong to the same group of companies, Innova Consulting Group. This case is work done inside our own group.
Bankruptcy clients arrive with very different problems. A borrower wants to know whether personal debts can be written off legally, a business owner is weighing liquidation against bankruptcy, and a creditor needs to protect a claim. Before they call, they compare firms on specialisation, a clear process and transparent pricing. A site in this field has to speak to each of these audiences in its own terms.
What we did
A website built around audiences
The site was live at банкрут.укр by 29 March 2015, in Russian with a switch to Ukrainian. Its menu was built around audiences: borrowers (individuals, sole proprietors and companies), creditors, and partners and colleagues, plus a price list. The home page set out a four-step work strategy, client reviews, a callback request and a feedback form. Service pages, such as bankruptcy of individuals, showed the price and the term, and a separate page covered the firm's guarantees. News, Blog, Payment, Guarantees and Contacts were in the main menu from launch. The case page credits a designer and a PHP programmer.
Search promotion
The case page lists the SEO work: a semantic core on bankruptcy with low-frequency queries collected in full, content optimised to that core, the Blog for the firm's own content marketing, internal link weight redistributed to the home page, and ongoing off-page optimisation and contextual advertising.
The August 2026 update
In August 2026 the studio audited the site for search, AI visibility and usability, then rolled out the fixes in three waves over 8–9 August.
- First wave. Analytics (GA4 and Meta Pixel) repaired and lead-conversion events added; prices switched from US dollars to hryvnia; outdated city names removed; the header phone made visible and messenger links added; consent added to the form; a call-to-action block added to service pages. Seven pages that still cited the repealed 1992 bankruptcy law were rewritten to the Code of Ukraine on Bankruptcy Procedures.
- Second wave. Fifty unique page descriptions, valid JSON-LD structured data on all 70 pages, self-referencing canonical tags, Open Graph cards, a 14-question FAQ with FAQPage markup, and a rebuilt sitemap.
- Third wave. Forty-five pages translated into Ukrainian and linked with hreflang. On 9 August 2026 Ukrainian became the default language at the root of the site.
Timeline from the Web Archive
- March 2015. The studio design is live in Russian, with an office on Mykhailivska Street 5 in Kyiv.
- 2016. The same site, with the footer "© 2015–2016" seen in the mockups.
- August 2020. The home page runs a feed of bankruptcy and finance news, and the Marketing MIX credit appears in the footer.
- February 2023. A new title and a home menu of explainer articles, such as how an individual can declare bankruptcy and the stages of a company's bankruptcy.
- April 2025. The same structure, the footer "© 2015–2025" and the credit in place.
Where it stands today
- On 14 September 2026, банкрут.укр is live over HTTPS. It opens in Ukrainian, with the Russian version at /ru/.
- The 2015 structure is still recognisable: the audience menu, the four-step work strategy (preliminary analysis, strategy, project work, assessment of results) and the client reviews.
- The firm handles bankruptcy and liquidation of companies of any ownership form, sole proprietors and individuals across Ukraine under the Bankruptcy Code in force since 2019. Its services include solvency evaluation, legal strategy, detecting signs of an opponent's intentional bankruptcy, court filings and representation, and support at creditors' meetings.
- The site has pages for news, payment, guarantees, questions and answers, a price list and contacts; the Russian version lists contact pages for Kyiv, Lviv and Dnipro. The phones (044) 466 66 50 and (067) 577 73 22 are listed as available 24/7.
- The home page carries LegalService structured data, hreflang for Ukrainian and Russian, GA4, Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel. The sitemap lists 90 URLs, last updated on 9 August 2026.
- The footer reads "COPYRIGHT © БАНКРУТ 2015-2026" with the credit "Розробка та просування сайтів — Маркетинг Мікс" ("Website development and promotion — Marketing MIX") linking to mmix.ua.
What we would add now
The August 2026 update brought the content, languages and markup up to date. The next steps concern trust and the platform.
A supported platform
The site runs on MODX Evolution, which has reached end of life, so a migration or hardening plan is the main technical task. Missing pages currently redirect to the home page (a soft 404); they should return a proper 404 status. See Law firm website development for Canadian firms.
Named experts and verified reviews
People choosing a bankruptcy firm look for licensed arbitration managers, a court track record and transparent pricing. The site names no individual lawyers or arbitration managers, and its on-site reviews are short, first-name-only texts in Russian. Profiles of the lawyers with their credentials, plus a Google Business Profile with verified reviews, would give clients and AI assistants something concrete to cite. See AI SEO & GEO agency: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews.
Local presence for each office
Separate LocalBusiness entries, each with its office address, for the Kyiv, Lviv and Dnipro contact pages, so that local and map results point to the right office. See SEO services in Ottawa: technical and local SEO.
Measure calls and messengers
Analytics and form events have run since August 2026. Call tracking and messenger conversions would show which pages and queries lead to real consultations.
