The brief

FDI Group is a defence industry company from Ankara, Turkey. Its legal entity today is FDI GROUP FALCON DYNAMIC SYSTEMS DEFENSE INDUSTRY AND TRADE LIMITED COMPANY, registered in Ankara's Çankaya district, and its current website gives 2010 as its founding year. The domain furkandefense.com was registered on 25 December 2009.

The company had run two catalogue sites on that domain before our project. The Internet Archive's capture of January 2012 shows a Turkish-language "Furkan Defense industry" site with an Ankara phone number and sections for modernisation, projects and video. The June 2016 capture shows an English WordPress catalogue, "Furkan Defense Industry", with product groups ranging from armoured vehicles and aircraft to naval, radar, communication and optical systems, plus a Modernization section.

From May 2019 to August 2020 the domain showed a holding page, "Site is under reconstruction", with Ankara phone numbers and an info@ address. Our mockups for a new "Furkan Defence Industry" site come from the same period: the map in them carries a 2019 Google copyright.

A defence manufacturer's website serves procurement officers, engineers and partner companies in several countries. They look for product families, modernisation capability, company credentials and a direct contact, and they often study the site long before any meeting. The new site needed a clear structure for exactly that: products, services, news and contacts.

What we did

Prototypes and structure

We prototyped the site and planned its sections, together with the communication and contact pages. The structure in the mockups has About Us, a Goods catalogue split into Weapons and Armoured vehicles and tanks, Services with modernisation, News, and a contact section with a map pinned to Ankara.

Design

Seven full-page mockups under the "FDI Group" name, with the headline "Furkan Defence Industry". The palette is dark with yellow accents, and the imagery is built around helicopters, tanks and trucks.

Front-end build

The case page lists the front-end work: a layout with animated elements and pop-up forms, programming, adaptation to different devices, and testing of functionality and usability.

Where it stands today

  • Archived captures show that the design stayed unpublished. The holding page remained until August 2020. From October 2020 the domain served a different WordPress site, "FDI TECHNOLOGY - TECHNOLOGY IN MOTION CONTROL", with Products, Modernization, Engineering Services, Documents, Representatives and News sections, five languages (English, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Russian) and the footer "Copyright © 2020 FDI Group". That site was unchanged in 2022, 2023 and May 2025.
  • On 14 September 2026 furkandefense.com serves a React single-page site titled "Advanced Defense Systems & Military Technology | FDI Technology". Its canonical address points to fditechnology.com. It runs in six languages (English, Turkish, Ukrainian, German, Portuguese, French) and carries six JSON-LD blocks, including an Organization record with the alternate names FDI, Falcon Dynamic Systems, FDS and FDI Group. The footer reads "© 2026 FALCON DYNAMIC SYSTEMS". The Furkan name no longer appears, and there is no Marketing MIX credit.
  • The About page on fditechnology.com names engineering, production and partnerships in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Portugal and Ukraine, and lists aerial, cyber, ground, naval and intelligence systems and secure communications as product areas.
  • The Ukrainian defence outlet Defense Express reported on 9 January 2025 that FDI GROUP FALCON DYNAMIC SYSTEMS has local companies in Lisbon (FDI HIGH TECH SYSTEMS, UNIPESSOAL LDA) and Kyiv (FDI ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY), develops the FALCON 127M remote weapon station and the FALCON EYE electro-optical fire control system, and works with Ukraine's Ministry of Defence.
  • The group has a LinkedIn company page, "FDI GROUP Falcon Dynamic Systems".

What we would add now

FDI's current site already has a strong technical base: hreflang in six languages and Organization and WebSite structured data. Three additions would help procurement teams and AI assistants read it.

One domain with clean redirects

furkandefense.com serves a full copy of the site with a canonical tag pointing to fditechnology.com. Permanent 301 redirects from the old domain would consolidate search signals in one place and keep years of legacy links working. See SEO services in Ottawa: technical and local SEO.

Content that loads without JavaScript

The site renders in the browser. In the HTML that the server sends, the home page counters read "0 + Global Contracts" and "0 + Patents Held", and that version is what many crawlers and AI assistants see. Server-side rendering or prerendering would show them the real figures and text. See AI SEO & GEO agency: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews.

Product data and specification sheets

Product markup for each system, and downloadable specification sheets behind a short request form, would give procurement contacts the documents they need and give the sales team a record of who asked for them. See Corporate website development.
