The brief
Bonyas Online University is an online university. Its public website, bonyasuniversity.org, says the university is at the licensing stage, presents bachelor's and master's programmes and partner courses, and invites people who want to be among the first students to leave a request for news.
This project is a learning management system (LMS) for the university: a single system in which an educational institution manages learning, students, finances, staff and communications in one place.
In any fee-charging school, a system like this is the operational core. It replaces spreadsheets, paper and scattered chats for enrolment, payments with instalments, grades and notifications. An online university that is still waiting for its licence has a second job as well: its public site has to explain its status honestly while it builds a waiting list of future students.
What we did
Core modules
The system covers academic programmes, courses and groups; schedules and classes; student records, including registration, enrolment, attendance and transfers; payments and financial records with discounts, instalments, refunds and payment history; exams, grades and results; staff and internal announcements; and notifications by email and SMS.
Additional modules
Staff management, working time and leave tracking, hostel, transport, library, warehouse and inventory, events, disciplinary records, requests and internal publications.
Interface
The screens are in Ukrainian and carry the Bonyas bear seal. The login page offers sign-in and account creation, with an illustration captioned “The mind is the best investment” and the footer “Bonyas University © 2025”. The admin panel, headed “BONYAS University”, has a burgundy sidebar with sections for staff, resources, calendar, discipline, gallery, supervisors, contacts, inventory, communication, library, questionnaires, knowledge base, news and blog, recruitment with vacancies and applications, users, custom fields, utilities and settings.
The screenshots may have been taken in a demo version of the system, so some sections may have no entries; the users list, for example, holds a single test account created on 3 April 2025. They show the structure of the interface and the main capabilities of the platform.
Where it stands today
On 14 September 2026 the public site bonyasuniversity.org is live in three language versions: Ukrainian, English and German. It runs on MODX Revolution, and its home page is titled “Старт до мрії” (“A start towards a dream”). The site still states that the university is at the licensing stage and collects early sign-ups for bachelor's and master's programmes and for partner courses through edX, promising flexible study and certificates such as Scrum Master and Project Management. A “My campus” link leads visitors to the login.
The public site carries the footer “©2025 Bonyas University All Rights Reserved.” and no Marketing MIX credit. The Internet Archive first recorded the domain in January 2025.
The LMS address, ims.bonyasuniversity.org, did not open for an outside visitor on 14 September 2026 because its security certificate is not publicly trusted, so we could not compare the working system with the screenshots above. This case describes the system as those screenshots show it. We found no independent press coverage or listings for the university.
What we would add now
These recommendations concern the public site, which is where future students first meet the university and where the LMS gets its users.
Correct language signals
The Ukrainian home page declares its language as English, and the three language versions are not linked to each other with hreflang. Fixing both tells search engines and AI assistants which version to show to which audience. See AI SEO & GEO agency: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews.
Indexing basics and speed
robots.txt and sitemap.xml both return a “not found” error, and the pages have no meta description, canonical link or Open Graph tags, so shared links appear without a proper preview. The home page loads 19 images, none of them in WebP. A sitemap, page descriptions, preview tags and modern image formats are quick wins. See SEO services in Ottawa: technical and local SEO.
Structured data about programmes and status
The site carries no structured data. EducationalOrganization, Course and FAQ markup, with the licensing status stated in plain words, lets AI assistants answer “what does Bonyas teach, and is it licensed yet?” accurately, without guessing. See AI-readable website.
A measured waiting list
Before licensing, the early sign-up form is the university's main conversion, yet the site has no analytics tag. We would track sign-ups by source and connect the form to an automated sequence that keeps future students informed until enrolment opens. See AI search analytics and Marketing automation agency in Ottawa: n8n, Make, Zapier.
A trusted certificate on the campus address
Students and staff will sign in at ims.bonyasuniversity.org. A publicly trusted certificate there is a precondition for anyone to log in without a browser warning.
